It is very odd to consider that it was just about a week ago that I completed my student teaching. Since then, I have worked in three different schools with three vastly different groups of students. On the days that I did not work, I morphed into June Cleaver and nearly drove myself crazy. I know that I could never stay at home; I need to work! Today, I am a special education teacher in Cudahy, which I am very much looking forward to. But this is the story that I would like to dedicate to my eighth graders…
Yesterday I was with 5th graders in Greendale. I had the kids introduce themselves to me in the morning. One girl said “My name is Jessica and I have a question.” She then broke out into giggles. I said “Hello Jessica, and I have an answer for you.” She stopped her giggles for a moment and asked: “Has anyone ever told you that you look like Lady Gaga?”
I told her “Yes, my eighth graders thought so too.”
What do you think?
