Another Update!

Here is what has happened over the past 2 days:

  • I have had the first part of my MPS physical which is needed for them to employ me.
  • I had my first day of subbing!  (Yay!)  I was a second grade sub for 12 kids and it went very well.  It was hard to get used to sitting on tables that were so low to the ground (in comparison to the 8th grade desks I am used to)
  • I got a call to sub on Friday afternoon for 6th graders at a different school.
  • I have an interview tomorrow (Wednesday) with the Greendale School District to be a day-to-day substitute teacher.’

My family is now liking to call me a “temp” because of this movie.  Jack Black’s character makes fun of his roommate for being a substitute teacher.

This is now my theme song for the next few months…

Guess What?

I got a call!  I am subbing in a 2nd grade classroom in Cudahy!  I am super pumped and cannot wait!!  Super Bonus:  they start school at 8:00, which means that I can take my time this morning and post this :)

Hope all of you had a great weekend and got to sleep in a bit.   Have a great Tuesday!

This Weekend

This weekend has been very surreal.  It is hard to believe that I am all done with school and student teaching!  I am going to be taking a class at UWM that is about the Civil Rights Movement and Milwaukee (which I hope to learn a lot more about!) on Thursday nights.  I am very much looking forward to it!

If you think that I celebrated this weekend, you are very mistaken.  My house is impeccably clean after I cleaned it from top to bottom Friday and Saturday.  Next on my list: doing my taxes.  How exciting!

Body Worlds

For those of you who are working on your body exams, here are a few pictures of actual bodies that have been “dissected” and preserved.  The Body Worlds exhibit was shown at the Milwaukee Public Museum and is currently traveling around the world.

Citation Guide

http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/747/08/

This is a website published by Purdue University.  The website breaks down how to publish online sources in your words cited page that will be required with your rough and final draft of your research paper.

There are many other websites out there about how to cite sources, and some of the citations are slightly different.  At times, it may be that one source says to use a period while the other says a comma should be used instead.  Purdue’s Online Writing Lab is a credible source that is very easy to understand.
